Two Spots Open on FVCC Board

There’s one week left to toss your hat in the ring if you’re interested in running for two open positions on the Flathead Valley Community College Board of Trustees. Applications are due by noon March 26.

The positions open this year are: one spot representing the Flathead High School District, currently held by Ralene Sliter; and one position representing the Columbia Falls, Bigfork and Whitefish School Districts, currently held by Thomas McElwain. Both position are for three-year terms beginning May 2009 and expiring May 2012.

To qualify for the positions, candidates must be registered voters of Flathead County and reside in the Flathead High School District or the Columbia Falls, Bigfork or Whitefish School Districts. The election will run with the regular Flathead County school elections held May 5.

All legal information, nominating petitions and candidacy forms are available at the college. FVCC Election Coordinator Monica Settles will assist candidates in the filing process. Settles can be contacted at 756-3801.
