Living on Less: Tips to Cut Costs

This isn’t exactly local, but it’s interesting. In this interactive feature, the New York Times asked people to share “survival strategies” for getting by in an economic recession. The result: Nearly 1,500 creative (or just plain funny) ways to live on less.

Here are a couple of my favorites:

We are swapping Saturday nights and babysitting for friends. In our area, that saves about $45 – 75.
