Monday: Glacier Graduation, Burglar Sentenced, UM Cuts

Good morning; on the Beacon today, new border crossing regulations have taken effect, so traveler need to make sure they have their identification papers in order. Roger Vargas, who pleaded guilty to two separate strings of daylight burglaries, has been sentenced to five years. A 17-year-old Polson boy has been arrested after his mother was attacked with a long spike. The Bigfork neighborhood plan is finally a reality. Officials with Columbia Falls Aluminum Co. plan to lay off their final 90 employees and close the plant at the end of July.
