Deputies Seize 5 Pounds of Pot After Missoula Crash

By Beacon Staff

MISSOULA – A car crash in Missoula has led to four felony arrests, as well as the seizure of $12,000 in cash and five pounds of marijuana.

Deputy Missoula County Attorney Andrew Paul says three men — 33-year-old Michael File, 23-year-old Skye Bruns, and 32-year-old Jeremiah Lettiere — met 20-year-old Patrick Collins at a hotel Thursday to buy drugs. Paul says Lettiere pulled a gun on Collins and stole his drugs and money.

Prosecutors say the three men sped away in a truck, but Collins, a student at the University of Montana, chased after them in his own truck and repeatedly rammed their rear bumper. The vehicles eventually crashed and authorities confiscated the drugs and money. No one was injured in the wreck.

File, Bruns and Lettiere each face felony charges of either robbery or accountability to robbery. File faces an additional felony count of criminal endangerment because he was driving.

Collins faces two counts of criminal endangerment, as well as possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of property subject to criminal forfeiture — the cash.
