Lightning-Sparked Fire West of Kalispell Contained

By Beacon Staff

A small fire west of Kalispell near Three Mile Rive was fully contained before sundown on Thursday evening.

Flathead County officials said the fire, which was caused by a lightning strike, measured about one acre and was contained within a bulldozer line.

The fire burned on private land, and a neighboring landowner helped the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation and the West Valley Fire District put out the blaze.
