Lecture Series Highlights Aging Issues

By Beacon Staff

The Whitefish Community Center, Immanuel Lutheran Home, North Valley Hospital and Flathead Valley Community College are teaming up to present a helpful, weekly lecture series dealing with issues that families taking care of aging family members can face.

The series will run on Mondays at 7 p.m. at the Whitefish Community Center and are free to attend. No reservations are required.

Proper care for the aging is invaluable, but it can be confusing and overwhelming for family members. The series seeks to prepare families for a variety of possibilities, including the legal issues of aging, late life social and family issues, experiencing loss and reactive health issues. Experts will broach other difficult subjects, such as dementia.

The Sept. 28 meeting will be on reactive health issues. Dr. Suzanne Danielle will outline the normal aging process, as well as what is not normal and when to start worrying.
