Rehberg Criticizes Stimulus Road Signs

By Beacon Staff

HELENA – U.S. Rep. Denny Rehberg is criticizing signs set up at road projects paid for with federal stimulus money.

The congressman says money spent on the signs serves no purpose other than to notify drivers that construction projects are funded by the “Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Act.”

Rehberg argues the signs provide no jobs or investment, and says there are better ways to spend the money.

The Republican voted against the original stimulus funding bill, and is generally critical of the large cost of the program.
