Bozeman Man May Lose Business After Gas Explosion

By Beacon Staff

BOZEMAN – The owner of the Rocky Mountain Rug Gallery, a business heavily damaged by a natural gas explosion in downtown Bozeman, faces a trustee’s sale of several properties for failure to make loan payments.

Six properties owned by Jalal Neishabouri are scheduled to be sold on the steps of the Gallatin County Courthouse in November, according to a published legal notice.

The notice says Neishabouri failed to make monthly payments on more than $2 million in financing obtained from the Murdoch Family Trust and John and Norman Murdoch. The trustee for the sale, Charles W. Hingle of Billings, could not be reached Tuesday for comment.

The notice says Neishabouri failed to make monthly principal and interest payments on the loans, beginning on April 1.

Neishabouri says he’s been struggling since the March 5 explosion, which killed a woman, destroyed several buildings and shut down several businesses.
