By Beacon Staff

MISSOULA – Ravalli County health officials are reporting the county’s first swine flu death.

Public Health Director Judy Griffith would not release the victim’s name, age or hometown, citing federal privacy laws.

The death is the tenth in Montana due to swine flu, according to the state Department of Public Health and Human Services.

The state has launched a hotline to keep the public informed about the H1N1 virus. The new system will have information on upcoming vaccination clinics as well as the groups of people eligible to get the vaccine. The number is 1-877-701-8555.

The DPHHS Web site also has a link allowing people to find out where and when flu vaccine clinics will be held.
