GREAT FALLS – A 19-year-old man accused of crashing his car into a Great Falls home has been charged with one felony and six misdemeanors.
Kody R. Rush, who remains hospitalized, was charged Friday with felony criminal endangerment. He also faces misdemeanor counts of negligent vehicular assault, minor in possession, DUI, no insurance, driving with a suspended license and not wearing a seat belt.
Police say the crash happened at about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday after Rush lost control of the vehicle, hit a fire hydrant in the front yard and drove through the outside wall and into the living room of the home. The car continued through the kitchen and came to rest in the hallway in the back of the house.
Resident Mike MacKenzie says the only thing that saved him was that he was in another room sleeping.
The crash left a huge hole in the wall, and the front of the home appeared to be collapsing.
