Flathead County officials say a 28-year-old Whitefish man died when two pickup trucks collided head-on on U.S. Highway 2 west of Kalispell.
Sheriff’s Sgt. and deputy coroner Jim Browder says Frank Gonzalez died shortly after arriving at the Kalispell Regional Medical Center emergency room Friday evening.
Montana Highway Patrol trooper Tyler Reed says Gonzalez was westbound at about 6:15 p.m. Friday when his pickup truck drifted across the centerline and struck an oncoming pickup. A man and woman in the second pickup were hospitalized with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The patrol is still investigating what caused Gonzalez to cross into oncoming traffic.
