A 23-year-old man accused of shooting a Kalispell man in the stomach and face has been arrested in Washington state.
David M. Palumbo, of Evans, Wash., turned himself in Thursday for violating parole on an earlier charge by leaving the state. He is being held in the Stevens County jail pending a warrant out of Montana’s Flathead County for attempted murder.
Palumbo is suspected of shooting 26-year-old Bryan Schloss with a .40-caliber handgun on Dec. 5 in what police believe was an attempted drug-related robbery gone wrong. Schloss, who remains in intensive care, is believed to have fired back at Palumbo with a 9-mm pistol. He has not yet been charged.
Schloss’ friend, 27-year-old Bo Hanger of Whitefish, was there during the shooting and dropped Schloss off at a Kalispell hospital and drove away. He has been charged with robbery.
