H1N1 Holiday Vaccinations

By Beacon Staff

It’s the holiday season, so of course I know you are thinking, “Christmas is four days away….when is the next Flathead City-County Health Department H1N1 vaccination?”

Well, let me help you knock that one off your year-end to do list.

All this week, starting Dec. 21, the county health department will vaccinate all people ages six months and older. Community Health Service Director Jody White wanted to remind families that this would be a free opportunity for college students who come back home to get their vaccination.

“We would also like to remind parents to bring in their children, 9 and under, for their second dose of H1N1, if they received the vaccine at least 28 days ago,” White said.

Here’s the schedule:

Clinics will be held the week of December 21th at the Health Department, 1035 1st Ave West.
Monday, Tuesday: 9am to 4pm
Wednesday: 8am to 6pm

The health department also has seasonal influenza vaccines available, and they cost $25 for adults 19 and over and $15 for children, though the department has said no child will be turned away because of an inability to pay. H1N1 vaccinations are free.

So, with everything considered, here’s wishing you and yours a healthy holiday season.
