MISSOULA – Authorities say a 69-year-old Evaro man is dead after being struck by a vehicle on U.S. Highway 93 near Wye northwest of Missoula.
Montana Highway Patrol trooper Paul Pfau says the man, whose name has not been released, was crossing the highway just after 7 p.m. Monday when he was hit by a northbound Subaru. The driver did not stop, but authorities located her and the vehicle late Monday night.
Pfau says the driver was cooperative and has not been arrested. Charges are pending consultation with the Missoula County attorney’s office.
Authorities say speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
