BOZEMAN – The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Gallatin River due to concern about ice jams building up along certain stretches of the waterway.
The warning focuses on a section near Logan. But officials say concern is also mounting for stretches near Big Sky.
Gallatin County Emergency Manager Patrick Lonergan says the river reached flood stage Wednesday morning.
He is warning property owners to monitor river levels and leave enough time to evacuate. He also warns that ice jams can pose a hazard to anglers or others recreating on the river.
