After the holidays is actually one of my favorite times of year. Last month was a time for everyone else, and now it is time for me. While I was out shopping for others, I found a lot of things for me. I didn’t buy them, but I wanted to and now without feeling guilty I can. When I go shopping, I try to only buy classic pieces that will last and fit really well.
I am on a hunt. I am looking for a structured jacket that I can use as a layering piece or just one that can make a good entrance – something very Chanel-inspired. Also, because the budget is kind of tight because of the holidays, I am looking for accessories. Remember, accessories are a great way to update your look without going broke. Lastly, I am looking for some more professional pieces for my wardrobe. I have decided that I really do enjoy dressing professional although my job doesn’t call for it. So I was thinking that a vest, a lacy dress shirt and great pants are as classic as they can get.
I don’t actually plan on wearing this all together. I am going to combine my present wardrobe with all of these different pieces and make the most out of it. I will wear the jacket with a T-shirt, jeans and some pumps. The lace top will work great with my denim pencil skirt and a pair of mary janes (which I forgot to put on my list too). A vest would be great with a pleated A-line skirt and some textured tights. Lastly, the pants can be paired with about everything, slouchy sweaters or a v-neck t shirt and some great boots. All of these items that are on my list can be a bit masculine, but when you pair them with more feminine pieces like fun jewelry, a skinny belt or a bright colored bag it makes the look strong and beautiful. So what is on your list?
