Following a four-month investigation, a 38-year-old male has been arrested for selling large amounts of marijuana out of an Evergreen motel, according to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office.
The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office Swat Team executed a search warrant on Jan. 13 and arrested Sean Franklin at the scene without incident. He is being held at the Flathead County Detention Facility.
About four months ago, the Northwest Drug Task Force began receiving information that a man was selling marijuana out of the motel, which was not named in a press release. The task force launched an investigation and introduced an undercover officer to the man, who was later identified as Franklin. The undercover officer performed a series of purchases from Franklin over a three-month period.
As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for Franklin’s residence at the motel. A total of 20 ounces of marijuana with a street value of approximately $6,000 was confiscated.
Franklin has an extensive criminal history that includes charges of aggravated assault, weapons charges and resisting arrest. According to the sheriff’s office, Franklin is a known user of methamphetamine and marijuana.
The investigation was a combined effort of the Northwest Drug Task Force, Montana DCI and the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office.
