West Yellowstone Soldier Killed in Afghanistan

HELENA – The Department of Defense says a 29-year-old West Yellowstone soldier has died of noncombat related injuries in Afghanistan.

Staff Sgt. Thaddeus S. Montgomery died Wednesday at Lorengal Outpost, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
