A 30-year-old Kalispell man accused of holding six duct-tape-bound people captive at gunpoint was arrested Thursday.
Justin Calvin Calbick faces possible felony charges of aggravated kidnapping and assault with a weapon, as well as violating a protection order. He is being held in the Flathead County jail awaiting charges from the County Attorney’s Office.
Calbick is accused of taking a loaded .22-caliber rifle to his estranged wife’s home east of Kalispell on Wednesday. Authorities say he held her at gunpoint and told her to tie up her father, her three children and her friend with duct tape, then bound her.
The friend says that after three hours of threats and intimidation, she persuaded Calbick to turn over the rifle and release her. The woman’s husband called authorities, who arrested Calbick early Thursday morning without incident.
Authorities said none of the victims was injured.
