HELENA – U.S. Rep. Denny Rehberg still holds a sizable fundraising led over potential challengers vying for the state’s lone seat in the House.
A year-end report shows Rehberg had amassed more than $738,000 in his campaign fund.
The Federal Election Commission report showed that the Republican brought over $565,000 from his easy 2008 win.
Republican primary challenger A.J. Otjen, a college professor from Laurel, raised about $15,800 since entering the race last quarter and spent $12,700.
Among Democrats, Dennis McDonald collected more money, but Tyler Gernant had more left in the bank and raised the most in the latest three-month period.
McDonald had raised a little more than $100,000 and had about $18,000 in the bank at the end of the year. Gernant has brought in about $77,600 and had $23,580 in his campaign fund on Dec. 31.
