Man Who Was Shot West of Kalispell Charged with Attempted Robbery

By Beacon Staff

A man who was shot in the face and stomach west of Kalispell in December has been charged with attempted robbery.

Police suspect Bryan Schloss was shot while trying to steal drugs from a 23-year-old California man.

Schloss was expected to enter a plea to the charge on Thursday, but he remains in a Pennsylvania hospital recovering from the injuries suffered on Dec. 5. He is expected to return to Kalispell in July to enter a plea.

David M. Palumbo is charged with attempted murder in the shooting of Schloss, who was in a sport utility vehicle with Bo Hanger of Whitefish at the time. Hanger, who also faces robbery charges, dropped Schloss off at the hospital after the shooting and drove away.
