University of Montana Bans Medical Marijuana

MISSOULA – University of Montana officials say medical marijuana is not allowed on campus, even if a person has a state-issued medical marijuana card.

School officials say federal law prohibits possession and use of marijuana and they’re concerned allowing it on campus could jeopardize the school’s federal funding.

Jim Lemcke, chief of public safety, says the school’s policy hasn’t changed and won’t as long as marijuana is illegal under federal law.
