LIBBY – Democratic Sen. Max Baucus will host a public groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday for the renovation and 3,072-square-foot expansion of the Center for Asbestos Related Disease in Libby.
The ceremony is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. and be followed by a reception and an opportunity to tour the clinic and see plans for the expansion.
The center is a nonprofit medical and research facility dedicated to health care and research to benefit people impacted by exposure to Libby asbestos.
The expansion will include new patient rooms and another pulmonary function testing laboratory.
Director Brad Black says the center gets about 20 to 25 new patients a month.
