Old Bones Found in Creston Slough Being Sent to Crime Lab

CRESTON – A law enforcement official in northwestern Montana says old bones found at the edge of a slough near Creston are being sent to a crime lab in Missoula.

Sgt. Jim Browder of the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office says it’s unclear if the bones found on Saturday are from a human.

Browder says the bones look very old and he recovered what he describes as three large leg bones, possibly a shoulder blade, and smaller bones that appear to be from an arm or leg.

He says a man playing with his dog spotted the bones that had become exposed by lower-than-normal water levels at the slough.
