Man Killed, Driver Arrested After Crash Near Arlee

ARLEE – The Montana Highway Patrol says a man has been killed after he was thrown from a vehicle in a rollover crash, then struck by another vehicle that did not stop.

The patrol says a pickup truck was southbound on U.S. Highway 93 just north of Arlee at about 2:15 a.m. Friday when it drifted off the side of the road, then rolled several times back onto the highway.

A man and woman were thrown from the truck. The man was struck by another vehicle and died at the scene. Troopers say that vehicle did not stop.

The woman and male driver were taken to a Missoula hospital. When the driver was released, he was arrested on suspicion of negligent homicide and was being taken to the Lake County jail.

The name of the victim has not been released.
