Rehberg Fundraising Tops $1 Million

By Beacon Staff

HELENA – Republican Representative Denny Rehberg has topped the $1 million mark in campaign fund raising for this cycle, while Democratic challenger Dennis McDonald has raised about one-fifth as much.

Federal Election Committee reports filed Thursday showed Rehberg has raised $1.02 million for his re-election campaign. He reported having more than $622,000 left in the bank and no debt on June 30. McDonald reported having $18,000 in the bank and a $43,000 debt in the form of a loan to his campaign.

Rehberg’s cash balance was bolstered by the $575,000 in 2008 campaign funds he had left over.

Rehberg, who is seeking his sixth term in the U.S. House, raised $100,000 over the latest six-week reporting period. McDonald reported raising $30,000 during that same time frame.
