Great Falls Couple Accused of Letting Baby Have OJ with Meth

By Beacon Staff

GREAT FALLS – Two Great Falls parents have been arrested on criminal endangerment charges for allegedly letting their 1-year-old daughter drink orange juice that contained methamphetamine.

Court records say Angela Haas and her husband Lee Haas, who are in their 20s, were arrested Tuesday after a social worker told police the baby tested positive for high levels of the drug. Bail for each parent has been set at $5,000.

The court records say Angela Haas told the social worker the child drank orange juice that was left out after a party in the couple’s home the previous night. The parents say they didn’t know the juice was laced with the drug, but prosecutors argue the couple did not take the child to the emergency room even after the baby started showing signs of withdrawal and they figured out what it ingested.
