UPDATE: Two Killed, One Injured in Crash Near St. Ignatius

By Beacon Staff

POLSON — A 68-year-old Missoula woman and her mother were killed and a man was injured in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 93 North near St. Ignatius.

The Montana Highway Patrol says slushy roads may have contributed to the side-impact crash between a passenger car and a full-sized pickup shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday.

All three passengers in the car were taken to Missoula hospitals, where the woman and her 91-year-old mother were declared dead. Their names have not been released. The 68-year-old man driving the car was injured.

The patrol says the three people in the pickup escaped major injury.
