The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office has identified the 6-year-old girl killed in an Aug. 11 vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 93 near Olney.
Krissie Lynn Shirlaw, of Cochrane, Alberta, died as a result of a two-vehicle crash that occurred on Sunday at about 3:15 p.m.
Shirlaw was a passenger in the car driven by her mother. She was properly restrained, the sheriff’s office reported, but succumbed to blunt force trauma injuries and died at the scene.
According to previous reports from the Associated Press, Shirlaw was in a sport utility vehicle with her mother and two brothers when the SUV went out of control and skidded into the path of a pickup truck pulling a trailer. The SUV came to a stop on its roof. The 30-year-old woman and her sons, 4 and 8, were hospitalized in Whitefish. The 60-year-old Olney-area man driving the truck received medical treatment in Kalispell.
