glory, there is still plenty to see within the endless con nes of the Flathead National Forest. With thou- sands of acres and many miles of trail to explore, the national forest is a fantas-
tic place to take in a winter adventure. A drive up along the North Fork of the Flathead River can reveal the sce- nic and wild beauty that runs along the border of Glacier Park and the Flat- head preserve. A winter hike to Stan- ton Lake, located not far from Essex on U.S. Highway 2, can o er some rarely viewed winter scenes. And if you want to see the scenery at a faster pace, the Flathead National Forest has many
miles of snowmobile trails to explore. For the most up-to-date informa- tion, check out the Flathead National Forest’s website at www.fs.usda.gov or
call your local ranger station.
How to get there: Access to the
Flathead National Forest is available at dozens of locations across the Flathead Valley and surrounding area.
