FOI R THE LOVE OF SKIING
Valentine’s Day we aim to add a few more memories. This weekend is typically a big weekend for skiers, as Presidents’ Day weekend is coupled with Family Day for our friends north of the border, it’s a long weekend and therefore an excellent reason to hit the slopes for a few days. With more of our friends in town it’s the inspiration for moving the February edition of the Torchlight Parade and Fireworks from Winter Carnival weekend to this one. First the lowdown on Saturday night: Night Skiing be- gins at 4 p.m. (just as it does every Friday and Saturday night through March 7th) with skiing on the runs serviced by chairs 2, 3 and 6. If you are a season pass holder night skiing is included, or you can purchase a night ski- ing ticket for just $20. Enjoy late day skiing, and watch the sun set before heading down to the bottom of Ed’s Run at 6:30 p.m. for the Torchlight Parade followed by Fireworks. Enjoy a beverage from our on-snow bar while
you enjoy the show.
Our Torchlight Parade and Fireworks are always fun,
and since this year it just happens to also coincide with Valentine’s Day we decided to have even more fun. Due to this serendipitous occasion, our Events Department will be giving away gift certificates valued at $50 apiece to two lucky couples who make a ski/ride date at our place this Saturday night.
If you’ve ever wanted to participate in a torchlight parade, we’d like you to come. It’s open to any skier or snowboarder who is at least an intermediate-level skier/ rider, and there is no cost to participate. If you are on a date and sign up to be in this year’s Torchlight Parade you
could be chosen at random to win one of the couples’ gift certificates. To register, just print the registration and li- ability waiver found on the Torchlight Parade events page on our website skiwhitefish.com, fill it out and bring it to the bottom of Chair 2 no later than 5:45 p.m.
If skiing in the pitch dark with torches in your hands does not fit your idea of a romantic date, you can still win the prize by just bringing your date night skiing. All you need to do is show your love for one another with a kiss. We will award the couple with the “Best Smooch” while riding Chair 2. As you approach the top of Chair 2, show us your best kiss between 5 and 6 p.m. and be entered to win.

The winning couples will be announced at Ed & Mul- ly’s immediately following the fireworks. By the way, Ed & Mully’s will feature live music with the Mardi Gras Quar- tet from 4-7 p.m. Stop in for the music, food and drink. The Base Lodge Bar is also open late for night skiing until 8 p.m.
Date or no date, Saturday night we’ll be having added fun with the Torchlight Parade and Fireworks. It’s not just for couples! Bring the family, or bring your friends and extend your day on the mountain. We are now officially more than half way through our season so it’s time to get on it, ski a few runs under the lights, and celebrate the sport we love.
