MONTANA LIFESTYLES
Resort living. There are so many stylized versions of what that actually means. In the real estate world, the options are concrete, more defined. It is always a dream realized to venture out, to travel, to visit an obscure port-of-call, a different continent, an historic site, an island. Resort life, vacations. However, when we talk about home ownership, “resort” can have a new definition. It can mean living in a new age, an all inclusive community, a golf community. All across the continental United States there is a new lifestyle defined, not just for the actual golfing community, but for those that would like to embrace that world. To spend each day enjoying the amenities that surround each golf course and the world it embraces. These golf communities have perfected the “stay-cation.”
A golf community is usually a gated environment that provides a beautiful venue for leisure living. They say that this is best for golf lovers. You can also appreciate the community even if you are just learning the sport. This is also an ideal place to retire. Although this is the case, this is not exclusive to just retirees. There are a lot of families and young professionals who are investing in this lifestyle as well. This is because of the different perks that come with pur- chasing a property in this community.
A golf course can create lush pic- ture-perfect views of vast, meticulously maintained lawns and manicured land- scaping. Most golf course developments adhere to design guidelines, as well as color palettes for the overall maximum aesthetic benefit. Developers choose to create an entire package; one that not only will appeal to the residents and vis- iting golfers, but that will augment the natural surroundings. In fact, in many

the Canadian Rockies are visible. Indian Springs Ranch development encompasses over 450 acres. The golf course itself is the main attraction, how- ever the entire acreage has been care- fully laid out to ensure the appeal of the area is not lost in the creation of a com- munity. Single family homes, duplexes and RV lots have all been slotted during different phases of building. There is a vast network of scenic paths and trails for walking which meander through the flats and hillsides and along Indian Creek. Amenities include horseback riding, hiking, and coming this year, a spa and residents’ outdoor pool. The center will also have a children’s splash pad, barbecue areas, cabanas and rec- reational area for lawn games. A sand volleyball court has already been built. The property borders three state pre- serves and over 400 acres of unspoiled native grassland. This pristine natural phenomenon has not gone unnoticed by the local wildlife that gladly shares their paradise with the residents. The qual- ity of life and commitment to respecting nature makes this golf community one of a kind. We are all encouraged to “Re- lax, Play, Discover” at this facility and its
authentic Montana experience.
Golf communities have been cre- ated to offer its residents a resort type lifestyle without ever having to leave the comforts of home. It addresses crea- ture comforts and humanistic appeal. The golf community atmosphere seems to fulfill an inherent need in all us. A community need. Belonging to a group of like-minded people that share a com- mon goal and desire a lifestyle where they can enjoy family, friends, and lei-

neighborhoods and towns, golf course homes offer the best vistas available. The sites are chosen particularly for that reason, to heighten the golfer’s aware- ness of their environment and highlight the area’s natural beauty.
These communities offer more fea- tures other than the golf course. Most have spas, swimming pools and lakes. This means that there are other things and activities you can try. You do not have to wait for the next vacation to en- joy a wonderful time with friends and families. The scenery alone will help you relax and rejuvenate. This makes the way of living much easier and enjoyable.
Northwest Montana is home to many such resort-type communities. Some
have been mainstays in the area for years, while new resort-like golf develop- ments are being designed and built cur- rently. Indian Springs Ranch is a newer golf resort in the Eureka area. The golf course is situated just minutes from Eu- reka in the Tobacco Valley, within what is known as the “banana belt,” which is said to have the mildest climate in Mon- tana. The golf course is a championship Scottish links style course and was de- signed with the utmost care. The ter- rain is diverse and challenging, and em- bodies the different natural grasses and vegetation of the area. There isn’t a hole that doesn’t boast amazing panoram- ic mountain views.
