Growing up, as early as he can remember Colton loved to swim. He competed for club teams and developed into a state standout, but when he arrived at Columbia Falls High School, he was afraid he wouldn’t get to represent his school in the pool because there wasn’t a team. With the enthu- siasm and support of Colton and others, the school added a swim program last year. And after only two seasons, they’ve already made their school and hometown proud. Colton won a pair of indi- vidual state championships this winter and guided the Columbia Falls boys team to its rst title. Babcock won the boys 50 freestyle in 21.95 and the 100 freestyle in 46.91. The boys team trailed Bill- ings Central by one point enter- ing the nal competition at state, the 400 freestyle relay. Colum- bia Falls — Babcock, Zayne Friar, Sage Wanner and Jacob Hohman — set a school record, taking third in 3:33.31.
