Ashley Trueblood

SCHOOL: COLUMBIA FALLS

CLASS: JUNIOR

VERY FEW PLAYERS HAVE BEEN
able to fool Frenchtown or go
pitch-for-pitch with Morgan Ray,

the Lady Broncs’ two-time Gato-
rade Montana Softball Player of the
Year. Count Ashley among the few.
Against the state champs in the
regular season inale, the Wildkats’
ace dueled Ray through seven in-

nings, striking out 10. Errors ended
up stiling Columbia Falls’ chance
at upsetting the eventual champi-
ons, but Ashley’s performance il-
lustrated just how good she really is

in the softball circle. The Wildkats
narrowly missed out on the state
tournament, but Ashley’s stats held
up in arguably the toughest divi-
sion in the state. “Not going to state
this year leaves a bad taste in our

mouthes,” she says. “Hopefully it
will motivate us.”

STATS THAT MATTER:

• Ashley earned first team
all-conference as the
Wildkats’ ace, notching 236
strikeouts in 17 games
