SWAN MOUNTAIN OUTFITTERS OPENS NEW DISCOVERY CENTERINWESTGLACIER
Swan Mountain Outfitters held a grand opening for the Crown of the Con- tinent Discovery Center in West Glacier on June 21. The facility is a “one-stop shop” for visitors to the area, according to Aubrie Lorona, vice president of Swan Mountain Outfitters.
The new discovery center is located at the old Rawhide Trading Post that closed last summer. Swan Mountain took ownership of the building last fall and has been working throughout the winter to rebrand the facility with a fo- cus on sustainable geotourism. The dis- covery center features horseback rides, the Glacier Coffee House, Bubba Luke’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlor, the Swan Mountain Activity Booking Cen- ter, informational exhibits about the re- gion and a unique gift shop. Lorona said the center is the only “brick and mortar” presence associated with National Geo- graphic’s Crown of the Continent Proj- ect.
