DURING JUNE, MONTANA WEST AND FLAT- head County Economic Development Authority seized the opportunities to promote the Flathead/ Glacier Park Region to a global audience. reverse investment, seeking companies who need a North Montana location to serve Canadian customers. The Glob- al Petroleum show is the meeting place for the oil and gas industry. Along with Ms. Morisaki, a couple of local busi- nesses attended the show to seek new customers. Early re- ports point toward positive opportunities available to the local companies for the time and money they invested in traveling to Calgary.
The Montana Governor’s Office of Economic Devel- opment is leading a collaborative opportunity to promote Montana through the Delta Airlines Sky magazine. In August, Montana will have a dedicated feature about do- ing business and vacationing in Montana. The reach of the magazine for one month is to 13 million passengers. Montana West and Flathead County Economic Develop- ment Authority are collaborating with the Whitefish and Kalispell Convention and Visitor Bureaus to promote the Flathead with advertising in the Montana feature. The cost of the advertising collectively is a special deal, and we could not afford not to participate.
Last week Ms. Morisaki and Brad Walterskirchen of Montana West Economic Development attended the Cross Border golf tournament reception in Eureka, to support Eureka’s efforts to strengthen ties between Canadian and North Montana businesses. Montana West members are engaged in an active Canadian Relations task force. The task force is to identify and plan action items leading to fostering jobs for Montanans.
