So Bad It’s Good
By APRIL VOMFELL ImagineIF Libraries
The do-it-yourself nirvana pic- tured on Pinterest doesn’t always pan out. The instruc-
tions look easy, but the
result is, well, not amaz-
ing?
Take heart! There is a whole world built around such failures.
Pinterest Fail is a
website that celebrates contributors’ botched at-
tempts at being crafty. The site’s ta- gline: “Where good intentions come to die.”
Some great examples: a rainbow layer cake that turns out as a col- lapsing pile of colored frosting and sprinkles; a newborn baby posed with big geeky glasses and a stack of books that turns out as a wailing baby falling face-first on the glasses and books; a glowing bouncy ball that turns out as a lumpy cornstarch rock.
It can be enjoyable, or at least re- assuring, to admire such failures.
