Lazy K Wrought Iron, a fam- ily-owned Evergreen metal- working business, has moved to a larger shop to allow for bigger and better projects.
The new location at 2890-B U.S. Highway 2 East has a larger metalworking space than the business’ previous building, and the new adjacent showroom to show the metal creations.
The business builds stair-
cases, deck railings, entry gates,
driveway arches, furniture, customized and personalized pieces, re- place door and tool sets, signs, rewood racks, curtain rods, and the best-selling sliding door hardware. The shop’s metal decorations are also popular.
Recycled steel is often used in projects, and the business also o ers reclaimed wood as an option on most products.

work is very parallel to that.”
The broader message, Hudson said, is
sharing gifts and talents. His crew does it through architecture and design, but others have used their skills to help as well. This includes local attorneys or artists getting involved with the studio to see how they can help, he said.
In time, 100 Fold would like to expand to possibly include medical care, since Hudson’s wife Samantha is a nurse. But the work will continue to include local projects, he said.
For Elderkin, the summer at 100 Fold Studio was a game changer. In school, the student population is split pretty
evenly between men and women, she said, but the real world of architecture is male dominated. Working with all women was a great experience, and she also learned there is a place for her in architecture.
“I want to be an architect,” Elderkin said. “Within it, I de nitely want to be working on community-centered build- ings. Having worked with 100 Fold and seeing work that they do in communi- ties all over the world has really rein- forced that in me.”
