The high school football season is rolling along. Here’s a breakdown of last weekend’s games and a preview of the upcoming week’s action. It’s homecom- ing week in Columbia Falls, Whitefish and Bigfork.

Flathead 41, Great Falls 12
Josh McCracken rushed for 214 yards and four touchdowns as the rejuvenated Braves dealt the Bison their first loss of the season at Legends Stadium on Sept.
11. Quarterback Bridger Johnson finished 9-of-14 for 103 yards and a touchdown as Flathead scored its most points in a game since Oct. 28, 2011. The Braves improved to 2-1 for the second year in a row.
Payton Boyce rushed for 74 yards and a TD, and Seth Adolph added 48 yards and a TD. James Flannigan caught four passes for 41 yards. Flathead had 28 first downs and limited Great Falls (2-1) to six. The Braves defense held the Bison to 172 yards of offense.
Flathead hosts Missoula Big Sky (0-3) this Friday at 7 p.m. inside Legends Sta- dium. This week was originally scheduled to be homecoming, but it was recently changed to the week of Oct. 9. The Braves will host Butte that week.
The Braves are off to another exciting start this season, having defeated both Great Falls and Great Falls C.M. Russell. The win over CMR in Week One was Flat- head’s first since 2003. It was only the Braves’ sixth victory over the Rustlers since 1972.
Second-year head coach Kyle Samson is trying to lead the Braves to their first 3-1 start since 2006.
Glacier 7, Helena Capital 3
Thomas Trefney rushed for 120 yards and Jacob Willich scored the lone touch- down of the game as the Wolfpack eked out the first win of the season and dealt Helena Capital its first loss.
Willich scored on a 6-yard run in the first quarter and Glacier’s defense kept the Bruins out of the end zone, allowing only a 25-yard field goal in the second quarter.
Glacier quarterback Leif Ericksen was 16-of-31 for 165 yards and an interception.
Caleb Jones had eight catches for 81 yards.
Glacier (1-2) travels to Great Falls to play the Bison (2-1) on Friday.
Whitefish 47, Browning 8
Chris Park scored three touchdowns as the Bulldogs bounced back after a narrow loss to Dillon the previous week to defeat Browning.
Park scored on the ground, in the air and on defense to help Whitefish improve to 2-1 overall in the Class A standings. Jed Nagler caught a 35-yard TD pass from Luke May, who accounted for three TDs as well. He scored on a 3-yard run and connected with Park on a 10-yard score. Brian FauntLeRoy added a 1-yard run, as did Tyler Cote.
Whitefish hosts Stevensville (0-2) for its homecoming game this Friday. Kickoff is 7 p.m. A pep rally is slated for 2 p.m. at the school followed by a parade through downtown on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
Hamilton 35, Columbia Falls 21
The Broncs jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and held off the Wildcats. Dakota Bridwell scored a 2-yard TD in the second quarter for Columbia Falls (1-1) and Stephen Lindsey added another score, a 50-yard TD catch from Brid- well. No other scoring information was
available.

bia Falls and the Wildcats are hosting Browning this Friday night at 7 p.m. On Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. the school is hosting its seventh annual powder puff football game between the junior girls and senior girls. Cost is $2 for students and $3 for adults. All proceeds raised will go to a student battling leukemia. On Fri- day, a barbecue is slated for 6 p.m. before the football game.
Conrad 25, Bigfork 7
Clark Judisch scored four touchdowns to lead Conrad past Bigfork.
Vikings’ quarterback Jon Landon had Bigfork’s lone touchdown, a 24-yard run in the second quarter.
It’s homecoming week in Bigfork and the Vikings are hosting Mission this Fri- day. Kickoff is 7 p.m. A parade through town is slated for 12:15 p.m. A tailgate at Flathead Bank is at 4:30 p.m.
Ronan 69, Libby 13
Seven different players scored as Ronan cruised past Libby.
The Loggers (0-2) travel to Idaho to play Priest River on Friday.
