ENJOY THE EXCITEMENT OF hockey in downtown Kalispell at this
weekend’s sixth annual Craft Brewers Cup.
Woodland Park is once again hosting the annual hockey tournament and possible beer fest, Nov. 11-12. The tournament begins Friday with 12 games slated atop the park’s outdoor rink between noon and midnight. The action continues all day Saturday and the event was slated to include a beer fest beginning at noon and featuring brewer- ies from across Montana. The city of Kalis- pell previously issued a permit to the event allowing organizers to serve alcohol but the permit was for Dec. 1-March 1. In the past, the event was held in January, but moved to this weekend after the annual Pond Hockey Classic moved to January. At Monday night’s meeting after the Beacon went to print, the city council was slated to decide whether to issue a new permit allowing beer sales this weekend.
This event is an annual fundraiser for the Flathead Valley Hockey Association, a volun- teer-led nonpro t organization that supports youth hockey programs at the Woodland Park Ice Center. As part of the event, Bruce Bell of the Bruce Bell Hockey School will host a one-hour youth skills hockey clinic starting at 8 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 12.
