REAL ID
The federal government says Montana residents won’t be allowed to use their driver’s licenses to access certain secure areas beginning on Jan. 30 because they don’t comply with the REAL ID Act.

Kevin McCrae, a deputy in the state o ce of the Commissioner of Higher Education, to the Missoulian in an interview last week. Enrollment at the University of Montana’s main campus has fallen by 22 percent since 2010, but the commissioner’s o ce says UM is spending more than 80 percent of its budget on personnel, compared to a university system average of 68 percent.
