Lace up the skates and hit the ice at the Woodland Ice Center near down- town Kalispell.
Located in Woodland Park, the Ice Center is a top-notch skating rink equipped with stadium lights, comfort- able locker rooms and benches for hock- ey games. The facility is open for public skating on most Saturdays and Sundays from 4-6 p.m. Skates can be rented on site. Check online for a full schedule, www.flatheadflames.org.
The facility is also used by youth and adult hockey programs managed through the Flathead Valley Hockey As- sociation. There are several different age divisions for young players and a wom- en’s and co-rec league for adults.
The Outdoor Winter Classic Jambo- ree will be held at the site starting Dec. 12 with several youth teams competing at the popular annual event.
Those interested in learning how to skate have several sessions to choose from this winter, starting Dec. 2-11. Oth- er sessions are Jan 6-15, Jan 20-29 and Feb. 3-12. The sessions cost $28.
