THE MARQUEE
WHAT TO READ, SEE AND APPRECIATE
BIGFORK’S ‘TOTALLY AWESOME’ CHRISTMAS CAROL
The snow has fallen, the trees are lit, and it’s once again time to revisit the holiday favorite, Charles Dick- ens’ “A Christmas Carol.”
But this isn’t your run-of-the-mill Christmas play. On Dec. 18 and 19, the Bigfork Children’s Playhouse takes the classic tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and gives it a neon makeover, set- ting the storyline in the 1980s for “A Totally Awesome Christmas Carol.”
Scrooge will face the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, all while learning the lesson of soft- ening his heart and letting a little love and light in for the holidays.
The performance will be highlighted with 80s air, a visit to the 1950s, and a few iconic 1980s personalities, so it’s going to be, like, totally rad.
Showtime is at 7:30 p.m. at the Bigfork Performing Arts Center. Tick- ets are available online at www.bigforksummerplayhouse.com.

The theater was expanded in 2004, and a new $1.1 million lobby was added in 2009.
The 2016 summer season is sure to capture the hearts and minds of its audi- ence, Thomson said, with the lineup fea- turing “Church Basement Ladies” as an early opening season teaser, and a rep- ertory schedule featuring “42nd Street,” “Shrek,” “Young Frankenstein,” and one more yet-to-be-named production.
Summer traditions will continue,
Thomson said, and any feelings bruised in the negotiation process will heal. In the end, an agreement was made, and now the Playhouse is preparing for another busy season on stage.
“We’re excited about it,” Thomson said.
