Kailey Schrader makes a diving attempt to grab a pig as she and her teammates, the Pigstones, try pig wrestling at the Northwest Montana Fair. Despite a week of soggy weather, the Northwest Montana Fair drew approximately 77,000 people throughout fair week, an increase of nearly 2 percent over the previous year.
Major Jason Curtis smiles as he watches a fellow pilot’s practice run with U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds in preparation for the Mountain Madness Airshow. Curtis, a 1999 Flathead High School graduate, first saw the U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, better known as the Thunderbirds, as a 4-year-old kid in Kalispell. He joined the Thunderbirds in 2013.
