Welcome the New Year with a chilling dip in Flathead Lake. Parade is at 1:45 p.m. and plunge is at 2 p.m. It is a family event and spectators are welcome. Bring your suit, towel, camera and good humor. Costumes are encouraged. The Raven is open for those wishing to eat and drink.

SNOWSHOE DISCOVERY HIKES, 1 PM
Lone Pine State Park Visitor Center, Kalispell There will be a demonstration on the basics of snowshoe- ing at the beginning of each hike. Snowshoes can be rented for $5; otherwise you are welcome to bring your own. Winter weather does vary, so if snow conditions are not appropriate for snowshoes, there will be a guided hike instead.
