BOZEMAN & BEYOND
6:00 AM
The sun’s nearly up and the windy sin- gletrack is beckoning. Load up the mountain bike and head to
the Bangtail Divide
trail, just north in
the Gallatin National
Forest. The 23-mile trail starts out with a series of switchbacks that will wake you right up and remind you how beautiful these mountain ranges are.
11:00 AM
Brunch? Is that even a question? Let’s go to the red barn on West Main Street. Feed Café offers a host of cold-pressed juices with a seasonal rotator. You can’t go wrong with the shakshuka, pastrami hash, or the Snaus, an egg sandwich with Hawaiian bratwurst and grilled pineap- ple on sourdough.
12:00 PM
While you’re here, take in some culture. Either the world renowned Museum of the Rockies, the Pioneer Museum, the American Computer Museum, Gallatin History Museum, or the Emerson Center for the Arts will do the trick. The Emerson has art exhibits, yoga classes, pottery and painting classes, and live music.
1:00 PM
Time to brush elbows with grizzlies— this is Montana, after all. Don’t worry, at Montana Grizzly Encounter, you won’t be that close to the majestic bruins, but you will get to see them in vivid, real- life detail. The bear rescue and educa- tion sanctuary provides a natural home for the seven rescued
grizzlies, and visi- tors get to see them at their most playful.
2:00 PM
Grab a quick bite from Tumbleweeds Gourmet on-the-go, a food truck that’s painted an iconic blue and serves fusion tacos. The traditional menu is solid, but
make sure to ask what’s on the —shhh!—secret menu. Don’t tell anyone
we told you.
Take a quick drive south of town to the Hyalite Canyon. When in Bozeman, you can explore multiple mountain trails in a day. The Palisade Falls trail requires human-powered travel, but a short, well-maintained hike provides a big pay- off: the terminus is a towering cataract tumbling from an 80-foot vertical wall.
7:00 PM
Feeling like a feast? Feast Raw Bar is a local favorite. We’re in the mid- dle of wild Montana lands, but that doesn’t mean you can’t
enjoy scallop crudo
or snow crab claws.
For the Montana touch, try the menu’s bison Carpaccio. The self-proclaimed epicu- rean restaurant’s motto— Life is delicious.
9:00 PM
The Bozeman Hot Springs are good for a lot more than a nice soak. Enjoy live music, free with pool admission. Tonight, the homegrown multi-instru-
mental folk duo Walcrik is playing. They just released
a new EP. Let’s get groovy.
