BIG SKY
A DAY in the LIFE
9:00 AM
Let’s start the day with a Gallatin River Hot Stone Massage at the Solace Spa & Salon in the Mountain Village. All treat- ments here are designed to care for bodies living at high altitude and in a dry
climate. Reeeelax...
10:30 AM
Grab a quick bite to eat at the Hungry Moose Market & Deli, a family-run shop with fresh, homemade breakfast and snack items. Then we’ll head up to the mountain. Check the snow report— any fresh powder? Of course there is.
11:00 AM
Load the Swift Current High Speed Quad. Maybe the guy sitting next to you is a retired professional ski racer from
Switzerland, a Texan visitor who’s never seen snow, or a sixth-gen- eration Big Sky local. You’ll never know unless you ask. Time to make a new friend.
12:00 PM
The upscale Carabiner Lounge, right in the village at the resort’s base, is the best place to enjoy a big lunch with big views.
1:00 PM
Though the morning’s dust-
ing might be skied out,
the sun is shining and the
afternoon snow is soft. With
almost 6,000 acres of easily accessible terrain, you can spend an entire day here without skiing the same run twice.
2:00 PM
The stunning Lone Peak tops out at 11,166 feet. From the top, you can see 360 degrees of Montana. The aerial tramway delivers passengers right to the summit, and services some of the resort’s most challenging terrain, like theBigCouloir.Greencirclecorduroy runs more your style? No worries. Catch a return ride 1,450 feet
down to the tram station.
3:00 PM
Après! A Montana Mule at
Montana Jack’s sounds
about right. A regional twist
on the original Moscow Mule,
this version is made with
whiskey, ginger beer, and lime, served in an authentic Butte copper mug.
6:00 PM
The sun has set but the adventure is far from over. The
three-course meal at
the Montana Dinner
Yurt is the kind of
experience only Big
Sky offers. Board an
enclosed passen-
ger snowcat for a
fteen-minute ride
through the woods
to the backcountry yurt. While dinner is cooking, take a torch-lit sledding run or snuggle up by the camp re.
10:00 PM
Ride back to town under the Montana night sky. After your rich, hearty dinner, you might be tempted to snooze in the cat—but you won’t want to miss a min- ute of the sparkling night sky.
