Of course everyone is encouraged to come up and cheer on these athletes! No li ticket is required for spectators at the lower mountain events as the courses are close enough to the Base Lodge to walk to and you are encouraged to join everyone on the Base Lodge patio for the ongoing medal ceremonies. e nish area for the intermediate ski and snowboard events is at the bottom of Ed’s Run and accessible on foot. Skiers and snowboarders will be able to watch and cheer on athletes from most parts of the event venues.
It’s an honor to host these athletes whose passion for winter sports shines brightly on our slopes. We look forward to the next twenty years and beyond. Good luck to all the athletes!

We are proud to welcome the 2016 State Winter Games February 28 to March 1. ere are several opportunities to show these athletes your support and cheer them on as well as to be a part of this year’s Winter Games by vol- unteering at the events.
Special Olympics Montana (SOMT) is based in Great Falls and this marks the 21st year that we will welcome athletes with open arms. Over 360 athletes, as well as uni ed partners and coaches for teams across the state of Montana will come for two days of competition and celebration of sport. It’s an event our employees and local residents look forward to every year, and the favorite annual event for many of us. All the athletes coming for this year’s Winter Games deserve high praise for each athlete and team must train for a minimum of eight weeks before competition.

Come Monday morning, the Base Lodge will become the Olympic Village when the athletes, coaches, families and volunteers arrive for two days of compe- tition. Events will include Alpine Skiing, Cross Country Skiing, Snowshoeing and Snowboarding all of which will take place at White sh Mountain Resort starting
Monday Morning at 10 a.m. and last until 3 p.m. both Monday and Tuesday.
Skiers and snowboarders will compete in the chair 2 area on Hellroaring and Ed’s Run, as well as on Chipmunk and the Big Easy Carpet area. Snowshoeing and cross- country skiing competitions will take place near the bottom of chair 9. e Base Lodge patio will be the location for all medal cere- monies. Closing Ceremonies will take place Monday evening starting with a Torchlight Parade on Chipmunk—new this year—fol- lowed by a banquet and dance at the Base Lodge.

Night Skiing is Friday & Saturday from 4–8:30pm through March 5th. Tickets are $21. No charge for season pass holders. Stop in to Ed & Mully's for an après concert February 27 with Mike Murray from 4-7pm.
