2:36 p.m. A herd of open range cattle wandered across Highway 2 West near Marion.
3 p.m. The cows were still in the high- way.
4:20 p.m. An employee of a drive thru in Columbia Falls reported that a woman pulled up to the window with a Coors Light in her hand and a baby in the back seat.
4:54 p.m. A resident on Parliament Drive reported that the neighbor’s black lab was loose and chasing some- one down the street.
5:04 p.m. A Bigfork man is considering erecting a privacy fence to restore the peace and quiet currently denied to him by his neighbor’s dogs.
8:05 p.m. A Hungry Horse woman reported that her “neighbor” called and asked her to stop watching him through her window. She doesn’t think it was either of her neighbors who called and felt that it was all re- ally strange.
TUESDAY 8/26
7:37 a.m. A runaway Husky was cap- tured on South Meadow Lane. How- ever, it slipped its collar and ran away again. It may still be at large.
9:06 a.m. A man called 911 out of ex- treme frustration over the construc- tion on Highway 2 West.
11:08 a.m. A woman on Patrick Creek Road paid for a full cord of firewood, but only received half.
11:49 a.m. A Marion woman reported that an intoxicated man rammed into her truck then drove into her house, causing an entire wall to cave in. A deputy found the wall to be intact, suf- fering only one dent.
1:27 p.m. Someone in Columbia Falls reported that several kids were stand- ing on a bridge, preparing to plunge into the river. He was advised that this wasn’t considered illegal.
3:30 p.m. A Kila resident reported that numerous bullets whizzed by his house and hit the tree next to where he was standing.
4:03 p.m. A Kalispell man complained that his boss has his speakers and won’t give them back.
5:07 p.m. A Somers man found a bunch of garbage in his driveway.
5:09 p.m. A 2-year-old girl took her dog for a walk down East Evergreen Drive. She was returned to her grandparents.
7:03 p.m. A Kalispell woman reported that someone called and advised her that she had hit his car earlier that day and left a note with her number. She insists that this never happened.
8:35 p.m. Three teenage boys were seen throwing things into traffic on Three Mile Drive.
WEDNESDAY 8/27
6:07 a.m. A Hungry Horse woman reported that her daughter pulled a blanket out from under her, causing her to fall and hit her head. There was also some talk of a missing $10 bill. She did not need medical assistance.
6:38 a.m. A Labrador retriever, in a feat of desperation, chewed off its mate’s shock collar and managed to open the latch to the six foot tall gate that con- tained them.
8:41 a.m. A man from Shelby called
the Flathead County Sheriff’s depart- ment to discuss a situation in his area. When asked why he called this county, he stated that the law enforcement in his county told him that he calls too often.
10:21 a.m. The owner of a culinary de- sign studio in Bigfork reported that someone crawled in through the win- dow and ate a large meal. It didn’t im- mediately appear as though anything had been stolen, but there was a signif- icant food-related mess to clean.
12:14 p.m. A young boy was overheard falling off his bike during an acciden- tal call to 911. He was not injured.
3:23 p.m. A Shady Lane resident called in to report that a number of their be- longings were stolen over a year ago.
3:38 p.m. A resident on Smith Lake Road reported that his neighbors mowed over his flowers.
5:52 p.m. A woman on Nicholson Drive believes that the neighbor kids stole her apples then threw them at her house.
10:23 p.m. A Columbia Falls woman re- ported hearing a woman scream three times under her bedroom window. She assumed it was a prank.
THURSDAY 8/28
8:12 a.m. A woman on Harmony Road reported that a German Shepherd puppy was outside howling at her door.
10:14 a.m. A Marion resident reported that someone cut the wire to his AC unit. He has a good idea of who did it, but couldn’t prove it.
10:57 a.m. A woman called from White- fish reporting that a teenaged girl in
a “Scooby Dooby Doo” van pointed a pink shotgun at her.
7:09 p.m. A man on Snowline Lane re- ported that someone moved his gar- bage cans and scratched “Uncle Tom” into his gravel driveway.
