• At its Nov. 3 meeting after the Bea- con went to print, the city council reviewed a request by Captain’s Marine for a planned unit develop- ment for a new boat and trailer fa- cility. Captain’s Marine is seeking to build a 14,900-square-foot facil- ity on its 9.7-acre site on U.S. High- way 93 South, near the intersection of the Highway 93 Alternate Route. • City Manager Doug Russell said in light of the nationwide attention surrounding the Ebola virus, the city’s emergency medical services staff has reevaluated infectious dis- ease practices, personal protective equipment and decontamination procedures. Kalispell Fire Depart- ment is currently staffed, equipped, and undergoing continuing train- ing in preparation for the treatment and transport of patients with high- ly infectious diseases, Russell said.
• The city’s planning board held an- other workshop last week to con- tinue work on the proposed Flat- head High School parking district. The city’s Planning Board has unanimously voted to recommend approval of the devel- opment.
